President's Corner

DALTA Members:

Greetings! Here we are already in October – unbelievable! This year has gone by so fast and yet we still have a lot more going on for our 20th year before we see 2009!

I would first like to thank all who helped plan DALTA’s 20th Anniversary Happy Hour which was held on July 23rd at Jazz at Jacks. And a big thank you to those members who showed up to help DALTA celebrate 20 years. DALTA handed out our 20th Anniversary gift at the Happy Hour and for those who weren’t in attendance they were again handed out at the August luncheon. If you still haven’t received your gift please try and make the October 14th luncheon and pick it up there! Carla Dickenson, our Treasurer, has done a great job handling all of the gifts and keeping track of them for everyone! Thanks Carla!

Was the NALTA Conference in Orlando a great one or what? The venue was incredible the classes very educational and the nightly entertainment was great! I hope all of you who were able to attend had a great time and are already looking forward to the 2009 NALTA Conference which will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Risa Loudermilk, our 1st VP, has worked very hard to put together DALTA’s Fall Seminar that will be held on October 22nd. Risa has a great line up of speakers and Anadarko has graciously allowed us to use their training rooms for the seminar. Hope to see you all there!

This is also the time of year that the ballots will be mailed out for next year’s board. We have a great line up for 2009. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to volunteer for a board position. Even if you aren’t on the board we are always looking for volunteers for the luncheons and seminars!

Our December luncheon will once again host a charity that the Board will vote on at the November 11th Board Meeting. Please plan on coming to help DALTA support the chosen charity. I believe we will be having our annual “Silent Auction” as well. Please stay tuned for more information to be passed along sometime after November 11th.

Please remember that if you are interested in volunteering with DALTA in any way, please let us know. And if you have any suggestions or ideas for the upcoming year the Board would love to hear from you.
